Honeyman State Park

For Spring break we went camping to Honeyman State Park just out of Florence Oregon where there are miles and miles of sand dunes to go 4-wheeling. We got to try out our humongous new tent we got last year. We were brave, I think, camping in tents in Oregon in March. The first 2 days were actually pretty good. A little chilly, but you can handle that.

When we weren't out riding we spent most of our time sitting around the campfire, or playing at the play structure.

If Gunner had his way he would have been on the 4-wheeler the whole time. They are showing off their new helmets, unfortunetly their new goggles and my new helmet and goggles arrived two days after we left. We had problems with the seller (on ebay) and in the end it was okay because we still got the helmets, but they refunded us part of the money.

The 2nd night it poured ALL NIGHT LONG and kept raining when we woke up! We ate breakfast in our tent, then Ian took the kids to watch a movie in the truck while Cooper and I had a nap in the tent. There were starting to be little puddles in our tent.

So instead of being cooped up in the tent all day, we decided to go for a drive up the coast. Gorgeous! I had never been down that far south. Then we had to toss a coin to see who got to sit up front.

While we were on the drive, Ian's dad called and said we were leaving. They had a river under their tent. We went with 3 families that all had trailers, and we pulled some of their 4-wheelers, and felt bad that we took them, but I don't think they blamed us for leaving. If it had rained and then let up we could have stayed, but it was not going anywhere. Here are a few clips of riding.

Cooper is 1!

So it is a little late, but Cooper turned 1 on March 21st! I know a whole year has passed! Here are some things about what he is doing right now. He is sort of walking. If you make him he will take about 8-9 steps, but he still prefers to crawl. He will get moments of bravery and just take off though, he has no balance, and so here is one of his nice cheek meets corner of wall moments.

He is always making some kind of sound now. Most of the time it is Oh, Oh. Especially when he gets excited or sees Dad come home. He can say Mama, Dada, baba (bottle), and another baba for bye. He has also just started to say what we think is hi. He just started waving really good and gives great kisses :) He is still my cuddly little boy and loves to lay his head on anything, whether it is your shoulder, leg, blanket, or floor and say AAHHH. Of course he is at that stage of getting into everything. If the doors are open his favorite places to go are in Malia and Gunner's room, he knows there is always some fun stuff for him to put in his mouth in there. His next favorite place is in the bathroom, he is fast and he always heads straight for the bathtub to knock down the shampoo and soap.
He is also throwing some really awesome 2 year old tantrums. The throw back your head to the ground and kick your legs tantrums. He is starting a little young I think, hopefully that isn't a sign of what's to come when he actually gets into that stage. I like to say he feels things deeply, when he gets mad, you know he's mad. When he is happy, you hear laughs and giggles at anything.
He is still a Daddy's boy, but a moma's boy too. He is really big with the seperation anxiety right now. Does not like strangers, or even grandpa and grandma's.

He is a really good little eater, and eats pretty much everything that we eat. He loves meat though, which is different because I have two other little vegetarians.

He hates having his diaper changed, well, I don't think it is as much as hating the diaper changed as he doesn't want to lay still for me to change his diaper. It is a struggle every time! With a lot of crooked diapers.

He still has just his top 4 teeth and bottom 2. I need to get a picture of it close up. For some reason, he gets A LOT of comments on his teeth. I am not sure why. Everyone always says "Oh look at all those teeth!" But I think they are cute because his 2 bottom teeth together almost equal the space between his top front teeth. He also has a little snaggle tooth because one of the top side ones is longer than the rest.

He loves his binkie and loves loves his blanket. Which I think is really nice because you give him his binkie and blanket and he will go to sleep so easy! I am loving his schedule right now. He sleeps from 8:00pm until 9:00am or sometimes after when I have to go get him up to get going for the day. Then will take a 1 to 1 1/2 hour nap at 11:00. Then will take another 2 hour nap after we get Malia from school.

He loves to crawl into tight spaces, under a chair, behind the couch. He loves hiding spaces like his brother and sister. So he got a cute little tunnel for his birthday and he loves it!

I am not sure exactly how much he weighs, but I think it is around 20 lbs. We go to the Dr. next week to get his stats.

Seeing Green

I usually don't decorate too much anymore for holidays, but I still try to do something. I was in Utah when Ian took Malia and Gunner to the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade where they got lots of candy! But on the actual day, we all dressed in our green and had green meals :) One of our favorites broccoli chicken alfredo. The kids really get into it, and I guess that is what makes it fun.

Cousin's Wedding

Cooper and I spent a few days in Utah with my family. I got to go see my cousin get married in the Salt Lake temple. This is Trevor and his wife Kelsey with my parents. He has lived with them since he was 14.

I also got to help my sister paint a little in her new house, and overall it was a quick trip, and just good to be able to see everyone. I didn't even take any other pictures. Cooper did pretty good on the airplane, although I am glad I didn't have all three kids.

Cooper Update and a sneak peak

Here is a video of Cooper getting around on his cast. Unfortunately I think a few days later his cast started sliding off. We went back into the Dr. thinking we just had to put a new one on, but they felt his leg, and he stood up on it, and so the Dr. just said to me "You just tell me what you want me to do. Put one on or not?"

I wasn't sure what to do. It has been a pain to have it on, and they were pretty much acting like he didn't need it, so I opted to not put one back on. Whether that was the right decision we are still finding out. The Dr. said he would limp, and he doesn't limp, he puts pretty much normal weight on it but he turns his foot out, so hopefully it doesn't stay that way.

And a sneak peak of what we are working on. We actually hired someone to help with the plumbing, so what would have taken Ian atleast a week to do at night we had done on Sat. morning. We have seen a lot of progress in a short time, which has been really nice. Now all the yucky part is done and we get to do the fun part......decorate!

Cooper and I are off to Utah for a few days so more of the bathroom update will have to wait......

Sport Princess

I wanted to share my friend's new blog. I absolutely love this idea! Many of you know Malia and how she has always been such a little girly girl. But then she also has this very athletic side to her too. Ian and I have gone around and around on this subject because he doesn't like to buy pink and does not like her to wear dresses. But if she had her choice she would be outside playing soccer in her princess dress and high heels.

I think she is really going to love the books! I can't wait for them to come out!
