First Day of School

Malia started school the day after Labor Day. Mighty big 2nd grader. Teacher Mrs. Tesdal.
Then Gunner started on Thursday for his first day of Kindergarten! His teacher is the same as Malia's K teacher. Mrs. Stewart. We love her! Wow! Two in School!
Here is Gunner's class learning what to do.

That left me home all day with this kid!
And his little sidekick Mina, the little girl I tend 3 days a week.
Enjoying some time playing by himself without big brother and sister bothering him.

Wish I new what the analization of how he lined up his cars is. He placed everyone very methodical. All had to be facing in.
He was practicing shooting a bear to be just like Grandpa Bracken!
And this is where I find him way too many times. Making his own bubble bath! This year is going to be fun! :)

Banks Vernonia Trail

On Labor day we went on a bike ride/picnic lunch with our friends the Bowdens on the Banks Vernonia trail. I can't remember how many miles we rode, but it was atleast 10, and they all made it!
With a few rests and crying breaks.







Then it was all down hill on the way back!

Pacific City

Labor Day weekend we decided to make another trip to the beach. And we chose yet another beautiful day on the Oregon Coast. We decided to go to Pacific City this time.

So did a ton of other people!
We had told the kids about the sand hill.
The sand was so stinkin hot! It really burned our feet. You had to run a few steps then try to bury your feet in to get the cooler sand.

These two ran way ahead and I had a hard time trying to catch them, this is after the ran up and then back down to meet me.
Then the funnest part is you get to run down!

And stick your burnt feet into the cold water!

This is also where you get to watch the dinghy's honk their horn and go full blast from the water up onto shore.
