Cooper 4 weeks

Here is an update on Cooper. He didn't gain weight very good the first two weeks, and he has a hard time nursing sometimes. He is just not very demanding, and I have to make him eat so he doesn't go 5 hours at a time, so he doesn't like to latch on real good. He also spits up like crazy so of course I stress over whether he is getting what he needs. We don't go back to the Dr. until he is 2 months old, and I wanted to know how much he weighs, so I took him to the post office and weighed him on the automated post thing...........He weighed in (fully clothed) at 9 lbs 11 oz. He has gained just over 2 lbs these last two weeks, so I am not worried anymore.
Here are a few pictures.. he is starting to get some meat on those legs :)

His umbilical cord finally fell off after 3 1/2 weeks! So he finally got his first real bath! Malia and Gunner had a lot of fun helping, but I didn't get a very good picture...

Beautiful!

We have had some beautiful summer days, but we are wondering what happened to the spring ones? On Sat. we did some yard work (well Ian did) then went to the park to feed the ducks and realized you aren't supposed to feed them anymore I guess, so we just walked around and enjoyed the sun!

Then today was 83 degrees! Ian had to go inspect a house and so we went along for the drive. It was up on Bald Peak which has an incredible view of all the volcanos. We don't get to see this very often because it is usually cloudy or low visibility. I have lived here over 5 years, and it is still awesome to see these mountains so clear. Growing up in Utah and living in Salt Lake right before we moved up here, I miss the mountains! But seeing these almost makes up for it. :)
You could see all 5 volcanos, but I only know Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens.
This is Mt. Hood

Easter

Here are some pictures from Easter.. Coloring eggs. Easter egg hunt--waste of time!! We waited and waited among what seemed like thousands of kids, for Malia to get plowed over by the parents, and only getting 5 eggs. Some bright person apparently thought that 5-7 year olds needed parents help. Gunner on the other hand had the potential to get quite a few eggs, and only got 2. You will see why in the video.

They got an easter egg hunt at home and one at Grandpa and Grandmas.

Gunner's Birthday Party

For Gunner's birthday we had a pizza party. Then he opened presents. And ate his car cake. And then we went bowling. The first time for Malia and Gunner. They started out using the ramp... Then decided they could do it themselves...

< They loved waiting for their ball to come back up, and half the time wouldn't even watch if they hit any pins. We had a few mishaps.

And a little Father/Son competition.

We all had a great time, and I have to say it was the first time bowling for me too since I broke my wrist and had a baby, so that is my excuse why both my kids beat me! And Cooper slept peacefully through the whole thing.

Happy Birthday Gunner!!

Gunner is 3 today! I can't believe he is a "big boy" now. Atleast that is what he tells everyone since Cooper came.
We love Gunner! He really is a good little boy, and he is all boy. But he is still my cuddler, which I love. Some things he loves right now are playing with his cars and tracks, and playing with the "kitchen stuff" and making us food. (I know this isn't really boyish, but he will make a good husband someday!) You will always find him with the play cookies, cake, and ice cream. He is our little cookie monster. He will choose chocolate over anything (wonder where he got that from?) He loves to play with his sister and is very protective of her, unless he is tormenting her, which he does just to make her mad. He is almost as big as her and can take her down in a few seconds. He also loves being outside and driving his hummer, and we can't wait for nicer weather. He is also very assertive, and knows what he likes, and how to get it. He has mastered the asking forgiveness instead of permission, which usually works well for him. :) Where Malia will ask for a piece of candy or something, Gunner will already have gotten it himself.
He loves to help me fold clothes and do the dishes and of course make cookies. With as much as he loves to help me, he hates to clean up his toys, and insists on needing "someone to help me".
He is really good with Cooper, and hates to hear him cry, and says constantly that he can't wait for Cooper to be his age so he can play.
We love you Gunner!
