Cape Lookout

I was in charge of our ward campout. I chose Cape Lookout. We went with a couple of families a day early. I am so glad we did. We got to have some fun on the beach and enjoy the beautiful weather before I was running around crazy. I think it all turned out and everyone had a great time!
It was our first time using our new trailer! So much fun!



















Cooper was so determined to fly this kite!




The kids could spend hours on end in the sand!




That night we had a group campfire and smores, then a french toast breakfast in the metting hall the next morning. Then spent another gorgeous day on the beach! I was running around and didn't get any other pictures. But I think all 120 people enjoyed it!

Get ready...Get set!

The field by our house has little track meets every week all summer long. We have seen this for the past 4 years that we have lived here and finally made it to a few this year. I don't know why we waited so long!

They do everything from 50 yd dash to hurdles to long jump, shot put, to relays. The kids loved the running events the very most!
Gunner did very good in all his races coming in the top 3 or 4 every race. There were some fast little boys!

Malia was little super woman too! She finished 1st or 2nd in most of her races.

She was very determined to run the 800, we kept talking her out of it, just telling her to do the 400, which she did very good in! Well the last day we let her and she made it all the way and did awesome!





Also tried following in Mom's footsteps...the long jump.
They had never even tried this before we were running over to line up the first time. So I showed them how to jump and land and what to do just a couple of times.
They really like this!


Malia got 2nd her first meet!The fun thing about this too is they gave out ribbons. Gave the kids a lot more motivation, and we came home with tons of ribbons!
Cooper even got in on the action. He was a little hesitant at first, we had to run with him, but once he got that first ribbon....he was hooked and talked about his "race" all the time!
