Despite what our neighbors must think we do not hate trees. We just don't like big huge trashy trees that hang over our house in our back yard. Yes, we were at it again, we took down 3 more huge trees from our backyard, although this time, we just paid someone to do it for us, and they will grind all our stumps too. Which was really nice, the old maple tree was huge!! It opened up our yard so much more, and gave us a lot more space to put in grass. The kids of course loved playing out there with the big stumps and with the really nice weather we have been having (well for us, it's not 82 degree Texas weather.. Paula) It makes us so excited because that was a huge step in our process of putting in our new yard. It is coming, and a lot closer now!

Food for thought...
So have you ever thought of what you would actually really do if you had an intruder come into your house in the middle of the night? Well we found out last night sort of. :) I got up at about 3:00 with a really bad earache. I got out of bed and went into the kitchen to get some ibuprofen. I opened the fridge and got a drink then proceeded to go back down the hall to our bedroom. Well as I turned the corner from the kitchen. I hear Ian start yelling AAHHHH!! AAHHH!! Then the hall light went on and he said AAHH! AAAHH! again. Then he turned off the light. He freaked me out so I started yelling AAHH!! too. Then he turned it back on and we both started laughing, but I was shaking too. Here is what we were both thinking. Ian thought he heard something so jumped up out of bed and stood in our bedroom doorway and was listening to see if he had really heard something when I turned the corner, and he saw me. He thought I was an intruder and he said he was trying to think what to do and was going to yell GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!! When he turned on the light, it blinded us both, but he still yelled again because he couldn't really see, but he saw that it was me so turned off the light again. So when the light in the hall went on, it startled me, but then I see Ian in our doorway squinting yelling AAAHHH! AAAHHH! At first I thought maybe he was sleep walking or just plain freaking out, or something was in our bedroom, then I realized I must have scared him, but then he kept yelling, so I started yelling because I thought someone was behind me! All this transpired in probably less than 20 seconds, but at the time it seemed like forever. It probably would have been priceless to be able to see the looks on both of our faces! We were so surprised we didn't even wake up the kids with all our yelling. So then we started talking about what if that was really an intruder, Ian said he probably would have started charging him, because when he first jumped up, his first thought was that the kids' rooms were closer to the intruder. Next time, I told him before he freaks out when he hears a noise in the house, he should probable check the other side of the bed to see if I am there. This may not seem as funny to everyone else, maybe you just had to be there, but I have never seen Ian freaked out like that before.

Twilight movie!

Is anyone as excited as I am? I am so excited!! They just finished casting for the movie Twilight. They actually did open casting for extras here in Portland! I missed it :) It is going to be filmed here in the NW. I can not wait to see it. Although movies are definately not as good as the books, it is still fun to see an awesome story come to life! I think it is supposed to be out the end of the year. It will be interesting to see how everything is portrayed. I hope they do a good job.

Love tag
So I have been tagged like three times, I am finally getting around to doing one of them. Maybe I will get to the rest.
What is your husband’s name?
Ian Kevin McOmie
How long have you been together?
Almost 7 years!!
How long did you date?
We met in March, got engaged in May, married in August---all the same year. :)
Who eats more?
Depends on the day and what kind of food. When it comes to junk, it's usually me.
Who said I love you first?
Ian
Who is taller?
Ian
Who has more speeding tickets?
Ian, I don't even have one! (knock on wood)
Who is smarter?
Depends on who you ask and what mood they are in.
Who is more sensitive?
I don't think either of us are :)
Who does the laundry?
I do, most of the time, but it is only when Ian kindly tells me he is all out of clean clothes! Then sometimes he ends up having to put the load in because I forget. I hate laundry!!
Who does the dishes?
I usually do, although with me working so much lately, Ian has been a good house dad.
Who sleeps on the right?
Is that when you are facing the bed or laying on it?
Who pays the bills?
I do, I have to know what is going on. It's a good thing, Ian doesn't really care as long as they are paid on time.
Who mows the lawn?
Ian. Unless he doesn't, then it just doesn't get mowed.
Who cooks dinner?
I do, Ian always says he loves to cook, but I haven't benefited too much from that yet. He has had to cook a lot lately because I usually leave for work before dinner, but do you count boiling hot dogs as cooking?
Who drives when you are together?
Ian does, but I am an excellent back seat driver! Although Ian would NOT agree!
Who is more stubborn?
Not me! he he
Who kissed whom first?
Ian kissed me on our 2nd date in front of our friends Jonathan and Kathryn. I was so embarrased. He thought I was a bad kisser, it was just because I didn't want to kiss him in front of people!
Who asked who out first?
We were set up on a blind date by Jonathan and Kathryn.
Who proposed?
Ian, but we already had our wedding day picked out. It was only a formality.
Who has more siblings?
I do. Ian has 3, I have 5.
I tag: ShaRee, Shemri, Megan, and Shannon.

Boring Blogger
So I have been a boring blogger lately. I do have some good excuses though. Like working 53 hours these past 8 days. Because I work only the hours that Ian doesn't, I usually spend any extra time I have trying to catch up on my sleep from working until 2 or 3 in the morning. The plus side to that is the paycheck I will be gettting. Thankfully I don't work that much that often, it just happened that the shifts I took for February happened to be almost all the same week. But now I don't work for 2 weeks (unless they call me in).
I did get my birthday off, and Ian and I had gone out with some friends the weekend before to see Fool's Gold, so we just had cake that night with the kids.

These past few days have been awesome weather. I think today it was in the low 60's! So we had to take advantage because I am sure it will probably start raining again and won't stop for 4 weeks. We spent all day in our yard, it starts again. Although I do hope this summer we get our yard done early so we can enjoy our summer and not spend it all working like we did last year. We are getting there, but still have an overwhelming amount of things we would like to do.
The kids loved being outside! We got the bikes out and Malia said she just needed to practice all day long. Gunner is trying to learn how to pedal, but has more fun chasing Malia on her bike. I didn't get a picture of them on their bikes, but here are some of them outside. And of Ian working in the garage, it's almost there too!

Ant Catcher

So kind of gross picture, but Gunner has officially become our ant catcher or rather killer. We have these carpenter ants occasionally make their way into our house. Gunner loves to catch them and put them in the toilet. The other day Malia was in time out in her bedroom, I could hear her yelling but trying to ignore her, (this is almost a daily occurence lately for freaking out over nothing and lashing out and hitting Gunner, well sometimes it's not nothing because Gunner antagonizes her alot lately) Anyway, Gunner apparently had gone in there and came running back out yelling BU! BU! BU! (BUG) I go in and Malia is in her Sleeping Beauty costume with her dress all spred out with the ant crawling up it. Gunner says Tissue! Tissue! So I go and get him some and he jabs at the ant until he gets it on the paper whether it is dead or not. Then runs as fast as he can to the toilet, half the time dropping the ant 2 or 3 times before he gets there. He always eventually gets there, and is so proud of himself for getting it! He's our little protector.
