For the Labor Day weekend we went camping in Eastern Oregon with our friends Ben, Bethany, and Mackayla Hegerhorst. Ian and Ben were both archery hunting. Looking for their big elk! Unfortulately they didn't get anything. They just saw a lot of cows. We had fun back at camp trying to keep the kids occupied with things to do, which we found out real quickly there is only so much exploring you can do before it gets old. We had to get creative with nap time because the tents got so hot. We had to deal with lots of bees, and were very glad we had a screen tent to eat our meals in peace. We also got to go to the Lehman hot springs where they have made swimming pools for the water. It was a nice break to get to shower so we all didn't stink so bad during the 5 days. Overall I would say we had a really good time, and of course the kids just love being outdoors and playing in the dirt.
Gunner and Mackayla finally became friends after they had a bath together. The whole time Gunner wanted to hold Mackayla's hand so bad. Every time she would fall he would try to help her up, but would just end up on top of her, and he would randomly try to give her a hug, but just ended up tackling her. He also thought she was a horse a few times. So needless to say she was a little scared of him. But in the end they became quite the kissers. Pretty cute.
