Here is an update on Cooper. He didn't gain weight very good the first two weeks, and he has a hard time nursing sometimes. He is just not very demanding, and I have to make him eat so he doesn't go 5 hours at a time, so he doesn't like to latch on real good. He also spits up like crazy so of course I stress over whether he is getting what he needs. We don't go back to the Dr. until he is 2 months old, and I wanted to know how much he weighs, so I took him to the post office and weighed him on the automated post thing...........He weighed in (fully clothed) at 9 lbs 11 oz. He has gained just over 2 lbs these last two weeks, so I am not worried anymore.
Here are a few pictures.. he is starting to get some meat on those legs :)
His umbilical cord finally fell off after 3 1/2 weeks! So he finally got his first real bath! Malia and Gunner had a lot of fun helping, but I didn't get a very good picture...

It's so hard to guesstimate how much they are really eating when you're nursing, so I totally understand your worry. You're pretty creative to take him to the post office to get his weight. :)
In case you want to try a different place next time, there are usually lactation consultant offices or breastfeeding shops that will allow you to weigh your babe for free before and after you nurse so you can even see how much he is taking in. They are some pretty exact scales! But it sounds like he is gaining just fine!!
Both of my girls, but Brynlee especially were big spitters. Brynlee actually had GERD and had to be on anti-acid med for the first 8 months.
He is So Stinking Cute and he looks just like his Mamma! Being a Mom of a newborn can be so exhausting..He will figure himself out and life will be much more relaxing soon! Luv you guys!
I can totally relate with you on this one. Avery's weight dropped pretty drastically after she was born and it took her awhile to gain so I have been freaked out & have been taking her to a Women's Center to weigh her. She too is finally on the up's. I've been tempted everytime we are at the grocery store to put her in the produce scale, but never thought about the post office. What a GREAT idea! Oh and yeah, Avery's umbilical cord still hasn't fallen off! I think it's there for life! UGH!
Cooper is SUPER cute! How is it having 3? I don't know that I could handle it.
He has some cute eyes!! I can't believe he is already that big. Where does the time go??
He is very cute!! I can't believe he's already over a month old. I hope he's not allergic to milk. Nathan spit up like crazy & we found out later that he was allergic to milk & that's why he spit up so bad.
Awww! What a cutie! You are so funny weighing him at the post office, I bet they got a chuckle over that! It looks so beautiful there right now-I didn't realize there were so many volcanoes right there.
