Malia started 1st grade on Tuesday. It was not a big deal for her at all. She let me walk her in the first day, but didn't want me to take a picture in the school. What happenend to my little girl? Her favorite part of the day was recess because 1st graders have new rules, they get to play on the monkey bars now.
Gunner had an open house at his preschool on Wednesday. He was so excited to go, talking about it all night and morning of, but once we got to the front door, and he saw his teachers, he decided that he didn't want to go to preschool anymore, and walked out. It took about 30 minutes of talking to him, and a bribe to the Dollar store after before he would finally go "check out the toys". So we were a little worried about how the next real day of preschool would be. What did he do? Walk right in and ask if he could sign up for snack! The teachers said he did awesome! And that he was quite the little talker, hopefully that wasn't a bad thing for them :) I don't know why this picture didn't turn out so well.
So that left me with this little guy. And this is the best picture I could snap of him, because he does not stand still!
I thought this is going to be so nice, only one child left at home. Here is 10 things I have determined so far:
1. For Cooper and I to get along, he needs to take his two naps.
2. What did he start boycotting this week? His morning nap! (I knew it was only a matter of time)
3. Because I have to pick Malia up at 2:10, I either need to put him down after an early lunch, right after I pick up Gunner, or wait until after I pick up Malia for him to get a decent nap.
4. 2:10 is way too late to put him down.
5. 12:00 is pushing it as too early to put him down now, so he will cry for a while, so I have to wake him up to get Malia.
6. Only one 1 hour nap makes for a looong afternoon, with not a whole lot accomplished.
7. It is nice to have 2 other sets of eyes watching out for what he is getting into.
8. I thought my house was baby proof, Cooper finds a new way every day to make me realize it is not.
9. The kids call him our Table Dancer. (And of course, egg him on) Even on our bar height table. One day I will get a video or picture of it.
10. Because I have to watch him almost every second, I still don't have time to update my blog with our hundreds of pictures from the last few weeks of summer.
.......Maybe once we get this schedule figured out!
