Lake Simtustus

The end of July we went on our annual boating/camping trip, this time to Lake Simtustus in Central Oregon. Ian left with Malia, Gunner, and Grandpa on Monday. I had a basketball game that night, so Cooper and I left the next morning with Grandma and Sean. So they had the tent all set up for us! It is actually a reservoir just below Lake Billy Chinook and Round Butte Dam. It was built by PGE, electric company.

This was, I think the first time this summer that Cooper was on the boat. He didn't like the life jacket at first. But he quickly found his favorite spots to be. Hanging out with grandma on and off the boat. Hanging out with mom on the boat. On the tube like brother and sister. Being anywhere on the boat that dad was. Especially when he was driving. But I think his favorite part was being dangled from the boat.

Malia and Gunner just loved being on the tube. Gunner even survived being flipped off the tube for the first time, and got back on! For some reason, they weren't as excited to ski this year. They did it only after we threw them in the water and made them. :)

They loved playing around camp.

Hitting the pylons.
The cool waterfalls.
And loved it when friends finally came. Ian worked hard..... getting everything set up.
Climbing up rock walls... Just to jump off them. With the help from Grandpa. Paddling in the canoe. Trying to get a good shot when the camera person had bad timing. :) Fishing Helping everyone with tubing and skiing. And lastly, helping to change the tire on the boat trailer. After it was shredded. This family loves our boat trip. Thanks Grandpa and Grandma!

So that whole dangling Coop on the side of the boat is a little to Michael Jackson for me. Scary, scary! What if he dangled to far? Do I need to contact Child Protective Services?
