We got back from Mexico and decided on a spur of the moment trip to the coast. We hardly ever do this, but it was supposed to be pretty nice there so Ian got a room in Tillamook and off we went.
The kids have been begging to go swimming for months, so we made sure we got a motel with a pool. We quickly decided, after both Malia and Gunner just about drowned in the first 30 seconds, that 1.we were in dire need of swimming lessons again, 2. just how much you can forget over the winter from not swimming, and 3. how outnumbered Ian and I feel when swimming. We spent a lot of time with our feet in the hot tub, I like it hot, but it was really hot!
We do not get out enough! How excited the kids were to stay in a motel!
Sat. morning we woke up to blue skies which is a treat in May on the coast!
We decided to hike up to the Lighthouse.

It just rarely gets this nice, we loved it!

These two were always in front!

You come to the coast and you have to go to the water, even though it is freezing cold, and the kids always get all wet and sandy.
I came prepared with their rain boots this time, knowing we weren't spending a lot of time playing in the sand, but wanting to let them play for a little while, and it made for such an enjoyable time in the sand. (Yes, I hate cleaning up the sand)
