I don't know if he'll make it....

Gunner is definately a boy, and his forehead seems to be a magnet for all sorts of things. I hope it survives his childhood. This time it was an unfortunate run in with my vase of cala lilies. Shame on us, this is actually the second time this has happened. I will explain. Because I have decorated our mantel above the fireplace, I had taken the vase and put it on our dining room table, well because our fridge was leaking, and we had moved it by our kitchen table while we dried out the floor, we have been using our dining room table more, so the vase of flowers got moved to the little stand by our door. We knew we couldn't put it there because when he was about 18 mos he knocked it off and the vase shattered. Well when I was at work on Friday night, Ian called my line, which I told him only to call me if you are going to be bringing one of the kids into the ER. He said what is your work email address because he needed to send some pictures of Gunner's head. He told me that while he was doing dishes he heard him playing in the drawers of the little stand and saw the vase fall as he was running to him, but didn't make it and the vase hit him in the head, it didn't shatter like the last time, but it spider webbed enough it could. He asked Gunner later what he was doing playing in the drawers, he said I was just getting my cars! Ian went and looked and two of his matchbox cars were in there.
I had some people at work look at the pictures and they said that it maybe could have used a stitch or two, or just put the dermabond on it, but Ian had put it back together pretty good with a butterfly, so we opted not to have the huge ER bill. He will probably have a scar, but I am sure this is not the last time this will happen!
Once again I am glad Ian thought to take pictures so I can blog it!! He is such a good blogger's husband!
So these two new cuts join the big bruise along his cheek from running into the wall the day earlier.
For those of you who have boys, do they ever learn to slow down?

That is sad!! Look at his eyelashes though! Those eyelashes are every girls dream! How lucky is he? No one will even notice his scar because they will be too interested in his eyes!!!

Tell Gunner to hang in there. Maybe you should make him wear a helmet. He'd probably like it. Can't wait to see you guys on New Year's.

They never slow down, Lara! Though Gavin doesn't usually have bruises on his head anymore, they are all over his legs and sometimes his back! Poor kids! Good job to Ian on the photos!
