Even after 5 years of living in Oregon, I still find it hilarious how big of a deal they make out of their little snow storms here. After growing up in Utah, they seem really insignificant for the amount of attention they give them. Although I have come to realize, it is different than in Utah because there is a lot more ice up here, and they don't plow all the roads. How lucky the kids are when there is 2 inches of snow, they cancel school. I remember one year in high school, one of the few days they cancelled school, it had snowed 3 feet over night, and we woke up, drove the jeep to school to find out that school had been cancelled because is had snowed a little in St. George, to then drive back home.
Well, here are a few pictures of our "Arctic Blast" we are getting up here. It snowed on Sunday then was really, really cold Monday, wind chill around 5 degrees sometimes. I finally let the kids go out and play on Tuesday, it was cold, but a beautiful day with the sun shining so bright!
Here they are trying to make a snowman.
Here they are giving up on a snowman.
But.. here are some pictures from a few minutes ago....
If it continues, maybe we will get to build a snowman after all. That is if it doesn't turn back to rain and melt it all.
The kids can't wait, and love their early Christmas present...their new winter coats.

That is so funny. I remember when they cancelled school. We all went sledding in the streets. We tied a sled behind Shiloh's car and went all over town. Those were the days!!
What Beautiful snow!It is so funny though because we have 5x that amount and off the kids go to school everyday..even at below zero windsheild! How Fun for you guys all to have a little fun without school! Luvs, Cari
I'm having silimar experiences in OK. School has been canceled here three days already this week because of the ice. I think they are finally going back today.
I didn't think it was a big deal either, but after seeing that a lot of people don't know how to drive in the stuff cuz they don't experience, I opt to stay home as well. :) Pretty pictures!
That looks fun. Tell them to get ready for the BIG snow at Grandma's house. School is canceled today here. I can't wait to load all the kids up behind the 4-wheelers again and drag them around.
