Malia's first day!

Malia went to Kindergarten for the first day yesterday. She goes all day everyday. We weren't quite sure how we feel about that, but I think it will be good. She has to get up a lot earlier than she is used to and yesterday at breakfast she said I am so tired! I said again, you need to learn to start going to bed earlier (she is our little night owl, and always has been). She said I wish I went to Kindergarten when I was 4 because I am 5 and 5 year olds like to stay up at night. She was so tired last night she was asleep before 8:00!
So the first day went good I think. I took her in and they meet in the gym and then walk to their class with their teacher. We walked in the gym and she was pretty nervous. She went and sat down and then when they were ready I walked to class with her. She was trying to be brave I think, and did a good job. She was just pretty nervous that she wouldn't know where to go, and she wouldn't remember her class room number. She even asked if I could write it on a piece of paper for her.


When I picked her up she had even made a little friend already and she told me that her and this little girl were the only ones that brought their lunches in her class, and they had the same sandwich, yogurt, and drink.
I asked her what her favorite part was she told me Lunch!
I know everyone says this, but I still really can't believe I have a kindergartener!
Back at home, we are going to have to get used to having her not there most of the day. She was really such a big helper with Cooper, and loved to "tend" him for me. (Basically protect him from Gunner). Poor Gunner, I asked him when I got back what he wanted to do, and he said, Go pick up Malia! He was a little lost, and followed me around all day "helping me" We are going to miss her during the day I think!
