Ian told me this story. It happened while I was at work. Ian let Gunner play on the swing set in his nicest pants. When he realized that he had grass stains and dirt all over them he said "Mom is going to be mad at me!" Malia came over to him and said "If you just tell her the truth then she maybe won't be so mad." Ian said "Oh is that how it works?" Malia said "Well I have never tried it, but I think that if you just tell her the truth she won't be so mad."
So she has listened to me!! Whether she has done it or not. It's nice to know she understood. I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but we have a lying problem big time in our house, and it's not just Malia! Gunner is as bad! Everything is "Lia" did it. How do you teach them not to lie?

Oh, Lara! We so have that lying problem too in our house. Usually it's just Gavin and sometimes Shelbi will lie too, but she's really quick to rat him out! I tell Gavin all the time that he wouldn't be in so much trouble if he just told the truth the first time! Still working on it though!
I sure can't help you on that one BUT if you come up with a solution, PLEASE clue me in on it.:)
Oh man...wish I had an answer for that one. Brinlee is pretty good at not lying but recently Brayden has been blaming Brinlee for everything or even Dad....that makes me laugh but I try to be serious and try to help him realize he can't blame others...but he doesn't get it....at all....so um yeah...good luck! It was SOO great talking to you the other day. I miss you guys...
Your kids are so funny together! They are like little teenagers
I have a lying problem in my house too. The only problem is while I was trying to teach them not to lie, I confused them. Now I don't think they really know what lying is because they accuse me of it everytime they don't get their own way. Sorry I can't help you out.
My little boy will actually come say, "yep, I hit him cause I wanted to". Still makes ya frustrated. The joys of motherhood. :)
